Lucky. My first cigarette made me cough and sputter, and less than five seconds later the nicotine high hit me so hard I couldn't stand by myself. I had to be carried.
Ironic -- you have your first cigarette almost a year later from my first. I started last October -- quit for about three weeks in January, then got hit by a car and have been off and on with it ever since; more on than off, granted, but I smoked myself into a week of bronchitis and laryngitis. Smoked four packs in less than six hours. Insane. Stupid. Crazy. Extreme.
...pretty much, me.
But smoking does what it does for some people. I hope it helps more than hurts.
